The Barbarian class has made its return in Diablo 4 and as a physically strong class, it uses its pure strength and melee weapon mastery to defeat hordes of enemies. However, choosing the best Barbarian build in Diablo 4 is essential to survive against the legions of Hell.

Barbarians have been featured in every Diablo game since the Hellfire Expansion of the original Diablo. With multiple ways to build them, there are various options to choose from to maximize damage output. One of the best Barbarian builds gaining traction in Diablo 4 is the Rend Barbarian build.

This build is based on the Rend skill, which does constant bleed damage to enemies. It can be learned at a very early stage in the game, at level 4, and can be upgraded with enhancements such as Enhanced Rend, Furious Rend, and Battle Lung Strike, once they become available.

To make this build effective, players must learn Rallying Cry to boost their Fury when needed. They must also upgrade the skill all the way to Tactical Rallying Cry, which will maximize the damage output. Additionally, War Cry is recommended to be learned at level 13 but should be used for powerful or elite enemies.

To slow down enemies, players should learn Hamstring, which is a passive skill that affects enemies and makes them more vulnerable to attacks after they are affected by bleed. The Death Blow skill should also be learned to deliver a final devastating blow to enemies who have already been weakened. Players should upgrade this skill all the way to Fighter's Death Blow.

At level 25, players should learn the Call of the Ancients skill, which gives a damage boost and temporarily summons three powerful allies based on the iconic Diablo 2 boss. For maximum damage, upgrading this skill to Supreme Call of the Ancients is recommended several passives should be learned as well to make the Barbarian extra tough, such as Cut to the Bone, Aggressive Resistance, Prolific Fury, and Pressure Point. When it comes to pure melee battle prowess, the Barbarian is the best class to use in the game so far. Although it has been criticized for being less powerful than previous Barbarians in other Diablo games, this may be a beta issue.
