Diablo 4: Expansions will be released every year

Diablo 4 has several major expansions planned for the future, each designed to shake up the game and provide hours of additional content for dungeon-crawling fans. Developer Blizzard Entertainment recently announced that it has begun work on the first two expansions, but did not provide an exact release timeline.
According to Diablo series general manager Rod Fergusson, the version is scheduled to drop significantly each year, as each new expansion expands content over time. In an interview with Dexerto, Ferguson said Blizzard is currently "laying the foundation" for the future and will encourage players to keep coming back to the game as the story unfolds. He said it was.
Ferguson called the game "the season of quarters" and "the expansion of the year." Each season of Diablo 4 allows players to start over with a new character and delve deeper into themed storylines and missions. Expansion packs will build on the seasons, adding more content, story and game-changing episodes.
"When we saw the launch and first season of the game, we saw it as a foundation for the future," Fergusson told Dexerto. "At Live Services, we take these things very seriously when we think about expansion."
"We have a plan, we have a story that continues into the future. We have a plan. We always look beyond the season, beyond expansion."
Ferguson pointed to the long gap between Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 as a reason to continue the game's live service, saying it provides a bridge between the series' present and future. Blizzard seems to want to deliver at least five new pieces of content per year (four seasons and an expansion) as long as player interest lasts and engages players with long-term, rewarding gameplay.
While there's still a long way to go, it looks like Diablo 4 players have a lot to look forward to in the coming years. Currently, Blizzard is focused on delivering the game's first two major expansions as well as its upcoming vampire-hunting-themed second season.
Diablo 4: Season of Blood will be available on October 17, 2023.
