FC 25: EA Sports FC 25 New Icon Debuts

With more Icons than ever before, EA Sports FC 25 allows you to assemble teams of renowned football players from nearly every era in the sport's history. The sheer number of icons available in the game right now is amazing. On the other hand, icons are now easier to access than before. Only the very best covers could ever expect to hire them when they were initially released, but now most players will be able to add an Icon to their ranks at some time in EA Sports FC 25's lifespan.
In EA Sports FC 25, more than 100 legendary players, including Lillian Thuram, Gareth Bale, and Gianluigi Buffon, are expected to take the field. Gianluigi Buffon (91 OVR - GK for Juventus)
Gigi Buffon possessed exceptional reach, quick one-on-one responses, and unparalleled positional awareness. Though Buffon did not even participate in the league for four seasons of his illustrious career, he nevertheless managed to become the Serie A record holder for appearances. He will undoubtedly be a strong candidate in EAFC 25, where new goalkeeping PlayStyles might upend the meta of useable goalkeepers, thanks to his enormous size and perhaps distinctive body type and movements.
Lotta Schlein (90 OVR - ST for Sweden/Lyon)
Lotta Schlein is one of the few elite players who have scored more goals than appearances in her career. She was an incredibly successful striker with excellent goal-scoring form across a nearly 20-year career. She's comparable to another legendary player from the Scandi Lyon era, Ada Hegerberg of Norway. Although she's tall, yet she has outstanding dribbling talent and technique. Should her PlayStyle+ be Finesse Shot, as speculated, she might resemble Alex Morgan, who excelled for most of the early FC 24 game.
Lillian Thuram (88 OVR - RB for Parma/Juventus)
Thuram is a renowned brick block that will fit in well with many of the other Icon defenders. He is categorized as a right-back in the reveal trailer, however, he can play both positions because he is just as, if not more, renowned for playing at CB, much as Jules Kounde is these days. This adaptability, along with the fact that he'll be lightning-fast and an excellent tackler, will make him both highly sought-after and costly.
Beyond that, there are some rumored icons for EA FC 25. While players may have seen the last of the new icons for EA Sports FC 25, some legendary names tend to make an appearance at some point. Chief among them is Diego Maradona, who appeared as part of the Classic XI before EA's license to use his likeness expired a few years ago. Diego, like Pele, is often ranked as the greatest player of all time, and his dribbling skills would be incredible in the new game. So it would certainly be a pleasant surprise if he could return.
Meanwhile, Zlatan has a long-standing dispute with EA over the use of his likeness, which, like most other players, was obtained through a contract with FIFPro. Rumor has it that this dispute is the reason why Ibrahimovic did not receive an "End of an Era Card" in FUT 23, even though he clearly deserves one, but once a deal is reached, Ibrahimovic may end up appearing as an icon.
