Diablo 4: How to open Mutterlock Chests

Diablo 4 players can find Mutterlock Chests throughout the Sanctuary map during Season of Viciousness. These chests are unique puzzles that players must solve to obtain valuable items.

Mutterlock Chests are randomly generated on the map and usually drop Holy or Ancestral items. These items are essential for building strong character builds and defeating late-game bosses. Opening the Mutterlock Chest requires solving puzzles, which add another layer of challenge to the game.

A very rare chest was found in the Nightmare Dungeon. Similar in appearance to the Chest of Silence, but does not require a specific key to open. Instead, the player must solve the puzzles presented by the boxes.

Interacting with the Mutterlock Chest will open a dialog with a list of Latin phrases. Players must choose the correct phrase and repeat it to the chest. If you choose the wrong phrase, the case closes and disappears forever. However, if you choose the correct phrase, chests will drop gold and valuables.

Three whispering stones with inscriptions appear near the chest to help solve the mystery. These stones can be found by exploring the surrounding area. Collecting the inscriptions in the order "Birth", "Life", and "Death" will give you all the answers to the treasure chest riddle.

One thing to note is that the text is written in English, but the lower right corner of the screen shows the Latin translation of the stone's instructions. Successfully completing the puzzle will transform the Mutterlock Chest into a Splendid Chest that can be opened.
