FC 24: Sales in Europe are lower than FUT 23

Although EA Sports FC 24 performed well in terms of sales, it lagged behind its predecessor FUT 23 in the European market. Physical game sales overall were down slightly in September compared to the same period last year, with EA Sports FC 24 cited as the main reason for the decline. However, the game has managed to reach number one in major European markets, especially the UK.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, the sales performance of FC 24, the latest game in EA Sports' football series, has lagged slightly in European markets compared to FUT 23. While the game has achieved impressive sales since launch, it still falls short of FUT 23's stellar launch by about 10%. Compared to FUT 22, however, the sales drop was only around 3.7%, which is more in line with expectations given the series' departure from the traditional FUT brand.

Despite sluggish sales, EA Sports FC 24'' still holds the number one spot in major European markets. The game performed particularly well in the UK, where football games are particularly popular with players.

FC24 is behind Bethesda's RPG Starfield and 2K Sports' NBA 2K24. While Starfield finished in second place, it couldn't surpass the title held by Forza Horizon 5 as Xbox's biggest launch game of this generation. Additionally, sales of NBA 2K24 were down compared to its predecessor, NBA 2K23, down 17% in the first three weeks of release.

In the United States, Starfield was the best-selling game in September, with FC24 in third place, behind Mortal Kombat 1.

Additionally, players of EA Sports FC 24 on Xbox are temporarily unable to start online matches. However, EA has announced that this problem has been resolved, ensuring players a smooth gaming experience.

All in all, while EA Sports FC 24 continues to do well in terms of sales, it falls short of FUT 23's unusual launch in European markets. However, the game has achieved top rankings in major European markets, particularly the UK. The Xbox issue has been resolved and players can now enjoy online matches without interruption.
